Road Safety – Cycling Proficiency
Road user training needs to begin at a young age so that safety skills can be established which last a life time.
The concern for child safety along with the Government’s 2010 target of a 50 per cent reduction in the number of children killed or injured compared with the 1994-1998 average, prompts the need for cycle tuition.
Two adults have undergone their cycling proficiency training and are now qualified to teach children road safety. This has now formed a regular theme to our summer club and children are encouraged to bring in their bikes and achieve their cycling proficiency certificate.

Swimming
Another regular feature of the summer club is our swimming coaching. We have a fully qualified ASA coach who instructs the children and helps them gain a certificate applicable to their ability and gives them the confidence to learn to swim with a large element placed on having fun and learning in a safe and controlled environment.
